Chile Uncovered

When my kids were small every year we went to Edaville to see Christmas Festival of Lights. But now they are older and refuse to go I still would like to have magical holiday experience. After doing research what is available in New England I found MAGIC OF LIGHTS at GILLETTE STADIUM

The Magic of Lights drive-through experience has themed light displays using the latest LED technology and digital animations. Gilette stadium is the home of the six-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and New England Revolution. Every December it shines bright all holiday season, as guests experience the thrill of the spectacular mile-long holiday lights display with various holiday light features.”

You can enjoy the brand new drive-through Blizzard Tunnel and Magic of Lights favorites including the 12 Days of Christmas, Winter Wonderland and the Night Before Christmas, all from the safety of your own vehicle….

The ticket was $50 per car and when you buy the ticket you can arrive any time after it opens. We went on December 30 and I was surprised to see a lot of cars there. But there was no line because it was superbly organized. Employees directed traffic and the experience was very enjoyable.

One piece of advice is to slow down sometimes to make sure other cars don’t block your view on both sites. The drive took almost half an hour and gave us a great holiday mood. Stay tuned for announcements every year here.

Next year we will explore other drives thru festivals of lights.

Since we drove all the way to Gilette Stadium we decided to go to a restaurant after the drive. We always wanted to check out Davios Italian steakhouse and made a reservation there. Boston’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Davio’s offers the finest Italian cuisine featuring the finest seafood and a full range of the Prime Brandt Beef available. It is pretty pricey but the food is delicious, the atmosphere is luxury and the service is top-notch.

Especially recommend trying filet mignon with lobster tails or with scallops.

We arrived early enough for the restaurant and had to wait for our table. It was col and chilly New England December and we decided to check out another interesting place at the Patriots Place – SPLITSVILLE LUXURY LANES™ | HOWL AT THE MOON | TOPGOLF SWING SUITES. Splitsville Luxury Lanes™ | Howl at the Moon | Topgolf Swing Suites is a  combination of upscale and nostalgic feel. It has 12 luxury lanes, 3 Topgolf Swing Suite bays and ample indoor and outdoor seating and can can handle parties from 8 to 800. We usually like playing bowling but the bowling lanes were all occupied and we decided to try golf.

“Topgolf Swing Suite is an immersive social experience offering guests a comfy lounge to play and enjoy food and beverage service. With a massive screen and a selection of different virtual games, the Topgolf Swing Suite delivers a one-of-a-kind simulation that’s fun for golfers and non-golfers alike.”

Even our grandparents who never played golf (strange for the USA – I know but they are Russians) enjoyed playing.

But overall, there is so much fun things to do in Patriots Place at Gilette stadium. Make sure to attend a game  – we usually go and watch soccer Revolution games there… That means I will have to write a separate series of posts about it.
